Eagle Gate College is a private for-profit institution in the United States. Founded in 1979, Eagle Gate College maintains four campuses in Boise, Idaho Falls, Layton, and Murray.[1] It is affiliated with Provo College and is part of Unitek Learning. Eagle Gate programs focus on Nursing and Medical assisting.

History

Eagle Gate College was founded in 1979 as *Intermountain College of Court Reporting*. In July 2001, it was acquired by Bullen and Wilson, LLC, renamed Eagle Gate College, and expanded diploma offerings in business, computer, and medical fields.[1]

In 2002, the college was approved to offer Associate of Science degrees, and by 2007, Bachelor of Science degrees. A branch campus was established in Layton, Utah, around 2004.[1]

In 2019, Eagle Gate opened a campus in Boise, Idaho, accredited by ABHES for Medical Assisting, Practical Nursing, and BSN programs. That year, it also added master’s nursing programs at its Murray campus. By 2020, Eagle Gate and Provo College joined the Unitek Learning system.[1]

Academics

As of 2025, Eagle Gate College offers diploma programs in Medical Assisting and Practical Nursing, and degrees in BSN, RN-to-BSN, MSN, and a Direct Entry MSN (MEPN).[1]

Eagle Gate College is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).[2]

Eagle Gate College operates campuses in Idaho (Boise, Idaho Falls) and Utah (Layton, Murray).[3]

  • Boise campus – near Interstate 84; offers capped classes and online programs (RN-to-BSN, MSN).
  • Idaho Falls campus – near three major hospitals; includes four simulation labs, two nursing skills labs, and a VR lab.
  • Layton campus – near I-15 and local hospitals; programs include BSN, PN, RN-to-BSN, and MSN.
  • Murray campus – near Riverview Park; programs include BSN, MEPN, RN-to-BSN, MSN.

Student demographics

Student populations vary by campus. At Murray, 48% of students were White, 17% Hispanic, 6% Black, 6% Asian, 3% Pacific Islander, 0.3% American Indian, 2% two or more races, and 18% unknown.[4] At Layton in 2022, 94% of degrees were awarded to women and 6% to men.[5]
