Venomverse is a 2017 comic book limited series starring Eddie Brock and Venom. It was written by Cullen Bunn and drawn by Iban Coello, accompanied by the companion series Edge of Venomverse serving as a lead-in to the 2018 crossover event "Venomized" (2018), which in-turn were followed by the sequel limited series Extreme Venomverse and Death of the Venomverse (both 2023), Venomverse Reborn (2024), and Spider-Verse vs. Venomverse (2025). The series takes a similar premise as the 2014 event Spider-Verse, in different iterations of Venom from across the multiverse being drawn together just as versions of Spider-Man were.

Marvel started a new Venom comic in 2016, where the main character was Lee Price, a new host of the symbiote, but Eddie Brock, the original Venom, returned in Venom #6 at fan request.[1] This return was soon followed by the Edge of Venomverse miniseries, starring Venom and alternate versions of other Marvel characters.[2] The actual Venomverse arc was released after the conclusion of the Edge of... miniseries, written by Cullen Bunn and drawn by Iban Coello, who had already worked together in Deadpool & the Mercs for Money.[3] The editor Devin Lewis described it as "the biggest Venom story of all time", and it intended to make Venom an important character in the Marvel universe.[4] Bunn pointed that most of the other main characters were selected because they would seem unexpected hosts of the symbiote. Lewis mentioned Deadpool in particular, and said that "Deadpool is one of our main venomized protagonists. He’s got so much heart and he’s also a source of unpredictability, insanity, and goofiness".[4] Bunn preferred instead his version of Rocket Raccoon.[3]
The series also introduced a new alien race, the Poisons, based on character designs by Ed McGuinness. Venomverse: War Stories was released alongside the main event, and served as a second anthology series based on the characters. It included a story about Punisher, written and drawn by Declan Shalvey.[4] The Poisons were introduced to the Marvel Universe in the "Poison X" arc, a crossover between the Venom and X-Men Blue comics, which set up Venomized, the sequel to Venomverse, by the same authors.[5]

Plot
After a battle with the Jack O'Lantern, Venom suddenly disappears and appears in an alternate dimension, summoned by the local Doctor Strange. He was recruited for an ongoing war between the Venoms and the Poisons. The Venoms are many alternate versions of known characters from Marvel Comics, all of them bonded with a Symbiote. This includes an alternate Spider-Man and the Mary Jane Watson from the Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows comic, but also characters usually unrelated to the Spider-Man mythos, such as Dr. Strange, Captain America, Rocket Raccoon, Ghost Rider and X-23. The Poisons are creatures that feed on heroes bonded with symbiotes, which permanently turns both the host and the symbiote into one of them. They are led by a poisoned Dr. Doom.
Dr. Strange realizes that bringing Venoms to continue the war only gives more prey to the Poisons, so he returns everyone to their native reality before dying. However, the war made the poisons aware of the multiverse, and they decide to explore alternate dimensions on their own. The final scene reveals that Doom actually worked for Thanos, who is also poisoned.

Venomized (2018)
Venomized is a 2018 comic book limited series published by Marvel Comics, acting as the conclusion to the Venomverse saga that initially began with Edge of Venomverse and Venomverse in 2017. Written by Cullen Bunn and illustrated by Iban Coello, the five-issue series expands upon the concept of symbiote-infected superheroes and supervillains across the Marvel multiverse, as the parasitic alien species known as the Poisons invade Earth-616. As numerous Marvel heroes, including Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Avengers, and others, are forcibly bonded with symbiotes by the Poisons so-as to be used as good by them, Eddie Brock and Venom find themselves reluctantly allied with many of his former enemies as they attempt to repel the invasion and prevent the extinction of humanity and symbiote-kind alike. The miniseries ran for five issues from April to May 2018.
Extreme Venomverse (2023)
Extreme Venomverse is a 2023 comic book anthology limited series published by Marvel Comics, serving as a continuation/revival of the Venomverse saga. Released as part of Marvel’s 2023 “Summer of Symbiotes” publishing initiative, designed to explore new and diverse interpretations of the Venom symbiote across the multiverse, as in Edge of Venomverse, Extreme Venomverse features a rotating lineup of writers and artists—including Ryan North, Mirka Andolfo, Leah Williams, Rodney Barnes, and others—each contributing stand-alone stories focused on alternate-universe versions of Venom and their hosts. These include inventive reimaginings such as the magical girl Necroko, a samurai-era Venom, and a noir private detective Venom, amongst others. Published from May to August 2023, the series features Carnage having attained the powers of Knull from the event series "King in Black" in its background, setting up the sequel miniseries Death of the Venomverse for later that year.
Death of the Venomverse (2023)
Death of the Venomverse is a 2023 comic book limited series published by Marvel Comics, a direct sequel to Extreme Venomverse. The series was written by Cullen Bunn, with artwork by Gerardo Sandoval, and was released as part of Marvel’s 2023 “Summer of Symbiotes” publishing initiative. Running for five issues from August to September 2023, it follows a multiversal conflict in which Carnage, empowered by the new symbiotic abilities of the King in Black, embarks on a mission to exterminate every version of Venom across the multiverse. Various incarnations of Venom—ranging from Gwen Poole to Necroko—unite in an attempt to resist Carnage's campaign of destruction.
Venomverse Reborn (2024)
Venomverse Reborn is a 2024 comic book anthology limited series published by Marvel Comics. Released as part of Marvel’s 2024 “Summer of Symbiotes” publishing initiative from June to September of that year across four issues, Venomverse Reborn features a rotating lineup of writers and artists—including Al Ewing, Christos Gage, Benjamin Percy, Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Adam Warren, each contributing stand-alone stories focused on alternate versions of Venom and their hosts. These include: a murder mystery involving the Avengers, Harry Osborn / Venom from Insomniac Games' Marvel's Spider-Man 2 confronting Knull during the events of Spider-Man 2 and "King in Black" (revealed to have been taking place simultaneously), a brutal Viking Venom, and a return from "the final biological life in the universe" from Venom: The End.
Spider-Verse vs. Venomverse (2025)
