Synthesis

The compound can be prepared via fluorination of einsteinium trifluoride.^[2]

2EsF₃ + F₂ → 2EsF₄

Physical properties

The compound is volatile. Volatility is comparable to that of other transuranium tetrafluorides.^[2]
