Elysa Chen Shiyun[a] (born 1983 or 1984)[1] is a Singaporean politician who was elected to the Parliament of Singapore in the 2025 general election. She represents the Bishan East–Sin Ming division of Bishan–Toa Payoh GRC as a member of the People's Action Party.

Early life
When Chen was sixteen years old, she lost her father to cancer prior to sitting for her Singapore-Cambridge GCE Ordinary Level examinations.[1]
Chen was educated at Raffles Institution before graduating from Nanyang Technological University with a bachelor's degree in communication and media studies. In 2016, Chen completed her studies at Trinity Theological College and received a Master of Divinity.[2]

Career
Chen began her career as a crime reporter with Singapore Press Holdings from 2007 to 2011. She later worked as a lecturer at Hwa Chong Institution and as a church pastor. Since 2018, Chen has been the Executive Director of CampusImpact, a youth-centered social service agency.[1][3]
Political career
Chen began serving as a district councillor on the North West Community Development Council in 2020. In 2024, she joined the Punggol Coast Citizen' Consultative Committee.[3]
Chen made her political debut in the 2025 general election, contesting Bishan–Toa Payoh GRC under the PAP banner alongside Chee Hong Tat, Cai Yinzhou, and Saktiandi Supaat. She was elected with 75.21% of the vote against a team from the Singapore People's Party led by Steve Chia.[4]

Personal life
Chen is married to Jonathan Huang, Director of Administry at Wesley Methodist Church.[5] They have a son.[2]
