Ewerton de Castro (born 11 December 1945) is a Brazilian actor, screenwriter, producer, and director. He is the father of actress Talita Castro . He retired from the arts in 2011 and moved to the United States.[1]

Career
Castro began his career in theatre and participated in more than 25 films, along with various theatrical pieces, as an actor and director, and in telenovelas. He has received an award for best supporting actor for his role as Mário in the 1973 film Anjo Loiro, at the 1973 Festival de Santos. In 2006, he interpreted Martim Afonso de Sousa in Encenação da vila de São Vicente, which took place at Biquinha beach in São Vicente, São Paulo.[citation needed]
In 2011, after appearing in the miniseries A História de Ester, Castro announced that he would be retiring.[2] In 2014, despite his announcement, he would go on to star in the theatre piece O Amor Move o Sol e Outras Estrelas, which made its debut in Cordeirópolis as a way to incentivize theatre performances in the interior of São Paulo state.[3]
