Fall 2 is an upcoming American survival thriller film directed by Peter and Michael Spierig from a screenplay by Scott Mann and Jonathan Frank. It serves as a sequel to Fall (2022).

Plot

Jax mourns the death of her sister Shiloh during the events of the previous movie. Inspired to celebrate Shiloh's life at the suggestion of her sister's friend Luce, by completing a daring plank walk at Mount Kwan-in in Thailand; the pair will soon find themselves stranded over 28,000 feet in the air following a rockslide with a tsunami and must work together to survive.^[1]

Production

Development

Following the resurgence of the first installment's popularity beginning with its streaming release on Netflix, a sequel was announced to be in early development by March 2023.^[2][3][4]

In October 2023, it was revealed that two sequels were concurrently in development, with intentions for the movies to enter production consecutively. During the announcement, the associated studios categorized Fall as a franchise. Scott Mann will serve as producer on both movies, while also serving as writer and director of the third movie. The two sequels will feature returning characters from the first installment and a new supporting cast as well. Mark Lane, James Harris, Christian Mercuri, and David Haring will serve as additional producers. The projects will be joint-venture productions between Tea Shop Productions, Flawless Productions Inc., and Capstone Pictures. Principal photography is scheduled to commence on the second movie in June 2024.^[5][6] By May 2024, Peter and Michael Spierig were announced as the co-directors for the first sequel movie, from a script co-authored by Scott Mann and Jonathan Frank; while Scott Mann was named as an additional producer.^[7] In September 2025, Harriet Slater as Jax Hunter, Arsema Thomas as Luce, and Tom Brittney joined the cast.^[1]

Filming

Principal photography was scheduled to commence on the second movie in June 2024.^[5] In September 2025, it was announced that the project had commenced principal photography earlier that year on location in Thailand, and had completed production by that date.^[1]

Release

Fall 2 is slated to release at an unspecified date in early 2026.^[1] Arrangements for international distribution rights took place at the Toronto International Film Festival.^[1]
