Fardis (Persian: فردیس)[a] is a city in the Central District of Fardis County, Alborz province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district.[3]

History
In 2010, Karaj County was separated from Tehran province in the establishment of Alborz province.[5]
In 2013, the city of Meshkin Dasht, the Fardis neighborhood[b] in the city of Karaj, and other parts of the county were separated from it in establishing Fardis County. The neighborhood was elevated to city status as Fardis and transferred to the new Central District as the county's capital.[3]

At the time of the 2016 National Census, the city's population was 181,174 people in 58,953 households.[4]
