The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) is an act of the Saskatchewan Legislature in the Canadian province of Manitoba that is both an access-to-information statute and an information-privacy statute.

Provisions
Local authorities, including municipal governments, universities, and school boards, are not included under the legislation, but are covered by the Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.[1][2] Health bodies fall under the Health Information Privacy Act.[2]
The legislation covers activity relating to trade missions overseas.[3]
Statistics relating to letters from members of the public are included in the legislation.[4]

Implementation
At least one US resident has been able to make a successful request under the legislation.[5] There has been at least one occasion where the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly has filed a request and the deadline for the government providing a response has lapsed.[6]
Criticism
The fact that that responses may cost money has been criticised by the Information and Privacy Commissioner.[2]
