FusionAuth

FusionAuth is a commercial product to allow single sign-on with identity and access management aimed at modern applications and services. The project was created in 2014 by Inversoft and was initially named Passport. It was renamed to FusionAuth in 2018. The company raised $65M in 2023^[1]. In 2023, the founder, Brian Pontarelli, was interviewed on the Liminal "State of Identity" podcast^[2] about the future of CIAM. In 2025, an employee, Dan Moore, was interviewed about authentication on the Changelog podcast^[3].

FusionAuth supports various protocols such as OpenID, OAuth version 2.0 and SAML and provides features such as user management, two-factor authentication, permissions and roles management, creating token services, etc.^[4] It is possible to integrate FusionAuth with other technologies, such as front-end frameworks like React or Angular, as well as containerization solutions like Docker.
