Gavanaj (Persian: گونج)^[a] is a village in Niyarak Rural District^[4] of Tarom-e Sofla District in Qazvin County, Qazvin province, Iran.

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 196 in 48 households.^[5] The following census in 2011 counted 176 people in 52 households.^[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 288 people in 99 households.^[2]
