The Greenbelt Reparations Commission was created by the City Council of Greenbelt, Maryland, in the US to implement a referendum vote in 2021 calling for the establishment of a body to investigate, and make recommendations regarding, reparations to African-Americans in Greenbelt. The scope of the Commission's charge also includes consideration of reparations for Indigenous people.[1]
The referendum passed 63% - 37%. The commission is composed of 21 members, residents of Greenbelt appointed by City Council.[2]
