Greene is an unincorporated community in Greene Township, Jay County, Indiana.

Baker is less reliable, however, than the Lewis Publishing Biographical which on p. 289 states that this was a hamlet and what was in it, besides its post office. (February 2025) |

History
A post office was established at Greene in 1862, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1900.[3] The community was named from Greene Township.[4]
