Helmolepis is an extinct genus of ray-finned fish that lived during the Early Triassic epoch in what is now Greenland, Madagascar and Canada (British Columbia).[1][2][3][4] Species of Helmolepis are small (between 5 centimetres (0.16 ft) and 8 centimetres (0.26 ft)). This genus is closely related with Platysiagum.
