History

The church, an example of Gothic Revival architecture,^[1] was built in 1870; the architect was Raphael Brandon.^[2] A tower by Charles Lock Luck (1833/34–90), dating from 1880, was removed in about 1970^[2] for safety reasons.^[1]

A 1950s-vintage meeting room complex south-east of the church was replaced in 1992.^[1]
