The Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF) is a fund established in Australia by the Albanese government. It is managed by the Future Fund, with interest generated going to social and affordable housing. In 2025, the HAFF had a capitalisation of A$10 billion.[1]

Purpose
The fund was established to fund social housing and affordable housing.[1] As of 2025, the fund approves approximately 900 houses on average.[1]
Establishment
The legislation to establish the fund had been delayed for months in the Senate due to opposition from the Coalition and the Greens.[2] Labor had threatened to call a double dissolution election.[3]
The fund was established on 1 November 2023.[4]
Funding rounds
In January 2024, the fund opened the first round of applications.[5]
In December 2024, the fund opened the second round of applications.[6]
Rate of return
As of 2025, the fund has a rate of return more than twice its originally projected rate of return.[7]
