Hovhannisyan or Hovannisyan (Armenian: Հովհաննիսյան [hɔvhɑnnisˈjɑn]) is an Armenian surname meaning "son of Hovhannes", the Armenian equivalent of John, thus making it equivalent to Johnson. It is the most common surname in Armenia.
