Huỳnh Thị Thanh Thủy (born 1 July 2002) is a Vietnamese beauty pageant titleholder and model.[1] She is known for was crowned Miss Vietnam 2022 and then became famous when she was crowned Miss International 2024.[2][3]
She is the first Vietnamese to be crowned Miss International, and the second time that Vietnam won one of the Big Four beauty pageants, six years after Nguyễn Phương Khánh won as Miss Earth 2018.[4]

Early life
Thanh Thủy was born on July 1, 2002, in Danang. In a normal family of four, her father is a civil servant in the electricity industry, her mother is a housewife and her younger sister.[5]
In the 2016 Danang Excellent Student Selection Examination, she won second prize in the Vietnamese literature contest. In 2019, she won a silver medal in the youth fashion competition at the 2019 Danang City Spring Flower Festival.[6]
She is currently studying English language at the University of Foreign Language Studies, a member of the University of Da Nang system. At the same time, she also studying at University of Greenwich.[7]

Thanh Thủy worked with the Angolan Foreign Minister, the Embassy of Vietnam in Angola on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of establishment Angola–Vietnam relations, in Luanda.
Miss Vietnam 2022
Thanh Thủy was crowned Miss University of Foreign Languages 2021, so she represented her university at the Miss Elegant Student Danang City 2021 and won the 1st runner-up position. She then represented the city at Miss Vietnam 2022. She was crowned Miss Vietnam on December 23, 2022, at the Phú Thọ Indoor Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City. During the pageant, she entered won the Sport award and top 5 Beauty with a Purpose, top 5 Multimedia challenge.[8]
During her tenure, she actively participated in charity work, notably: Charity project called "Spring of love – Warm Tet" in Khánh Hòa province, Bạc Liêu province, Bến Tre province.[9][10] A village in Vietnam was wiped out by Typhoon Yagi, after the storm ended she was there recovery efforts, with Hòa Minzy.
Miss International 2024
There was significant controversy surrounding Thanh Thủy prestigious position as Miss Vietnam, a title that has never sent any winner to pageants other than Miss World, which is one of the Big Four beauty pageants. Final-ly, she succeed Andrea Rubio on November 12, 2024 in Tokyo, Japan was crown Miss International.[11][12]
Thanh Thủy attended the symposium of UN Women. Here, she participated in dialogue sessions on the Sustainable Development Goal 17 of the United Nations, and shared about the "Clean Water" project – an initiative she brought to the Miss International 2024 pageant. In addition, she also participated in the campaign "The Clean Earth Project", with Jessica Lane.
Thanh Thủy decided to build a well after witnessing the lack of clean water in a Vietnam village, Úcua, Bengo, Angola, she is the first Miss International to travel to an African country. She participates in FUNDAL – Guatemalan Foundation for children with hearing loss, visual impairment and multiple disabilities. She also participates in Net-zero emissions.

Two months after being crowned Miss International, on social networks Facebook and TikTok in Vietnam, images of Thanh Thủy and Soobin Hoàng Sơn getting married and having a baby appeared everywhere. On January 17, SpaceSpeakers Label – Soobin's management company, spoke out against the act of editing false photos. On January 18, her management company also issued a statement clarifying that the above images were the product of artificial intelligence. The reason is said to be due to the effect at Green Wawe when the two had many interactions.[13][14][15]
This was extremely serious, because at that time she was still the reigning Miss Vietnam and had just been crowned Miss International. Both competitions are prestigious, large-scale and have a long history. Notably, beauty queens cannot marry or have children during their term. After the incident, the public raised questions about the impact of artificial intelligence.[16]
