Hunt Downer

Hunt Downer (born April 28, 1946)^[3] is an American politician. He served as a Democratic member of the Louisiana House of Representatives.^[4]

Life and career

Downer was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He attended Nicholls State University and Loyola University New Orleans. He served in the United States Army Reserve.^[3]

Downer served in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 1976 to 2004.^[4]

Downer was a major general of the Louisiana National Guard.^[5]

In 2010 he attempted to be selected as the Republican candidate for Louisiana's 3rd congressional district but was defeated by Jeff Landry.
