Independence Community School District is a public school district headquartered in Independence, Iowa.[1] The majority of the district is in Buchanan County, and serves the city of Independence and surrounding areas including the towns of Brandon and Rowley.[2]
Cynthia Phillips was hired as superintendent in 2023. Prior to becoming superintendent, Cynthia Phillips served as Executive Director of High School Education for the Cedar Rapids Community School District.[3]

- Early Childhood Center (4-year-old Preschool & Early Childhood Special Education)
- East Elementary School (Junior Kindergarten - 2nd grade)
