Inside the Beast

Inside the Beast, also known as Spider-Girl: Girl Fight!, Spider-Girl: Back in Black!, and Spider-Girl: Final Battle!, is a graphic novel written by Tom DeFalco, drawn by Ron Frenz and Pat Olliffe, and published by Marvel Comics 2 as the fourteenth volume of the American comic book series Spider-Girl, following Mayday Parker / Spider-Girl, the daughter of Peter Parker / Spider-Man and Mary Jane Watson, as she faces the redeemed Normie Osborn, engaged to be married to Raptor, as he is possessed by the Venom symbiote, Mayday also facing Allison Dillon / Aftershock, the daughter of her father's old enemy Electro, and the return of Fury the Goblin Queen.^[3][4][5]

Allison Dillon / Aftershock from the novel was adapted to the 2023–2025 animated series Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, voiced by Alison Brie.

Premise

The series follows Mayday Parker / Spider-Girl, sworn to follow in her father's web-tracks, as recovering from her stab wound from Fury the Goblin Queen, she faces Allison Dillon / Aftershock, daughter of her father's old enemy Electro (who she derisively nicknames "Electra"), before dealing with her crush, the redeemed Normie Osborn, having become engaged to marry Brenda Drago / Raptor, as he is possessed by the Venom symbiote, bringing the attention of the Avengers of A-Next and the Fantastic Five.^[13][14][15]

Allison Dillon / Aftershock from the novel was adapted to the animated series Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur (2023–2025), voiced by Alison Brie.^[21] This version daylights as Ms. Dillon, a school teacher, who opposes Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. While not made explicitly clear within the series, show developer Steve Loter confirmed her as Electro's daughter,^[22] with Aftershock's first storyline in the series: draining the Lower East Side's energy, serving as "a statement" about gentrification.^[23]
