Jagdish Kharel^[1] is a senior journalist^[2] and media professional^[3][4] who is currently serving as the Minister of Information and Communication Technology^[5][6] in the interim cabinet of Prime Minister Sushila Karki since 22 September 2025.^[7]

Career and education

Kharel began his journalism career in 2005, focusing on political reporting. He gained prominence as the host of Hot Seat, a popular talk show on Image TV Channel that addresses political and social issues in Nepal. The program is known for its in-depth interviews with political leaders and analysts. He is pursuing a PhD in international relations and diplomacy.^[8]
