Jan Versteegh

Jan Versteegh (born 31 December 1985) is a Dutch television presenter and singer. He is known for presenting several television shows, including Spuiten en Slikken, Proefkonijnen and Muscles & Brains.^[1][2] He is also known for appearing in the reality television series Wie is de Mol?.^[3]

Career

In 2012, Versteegh became a reporter for the show PowNews by PowNed.^[4] He joined BNN in early 2014.^[4] Versteegh presented various television programs which include Spuiten en Slikken, a show about sexuality and drugs, and Proefkonijnen, a popular science show in which the presenters try to answer questions from viewers.^[1][2] He presented Proefkonijnen together with Geraldine Kemper.^[2] A few years later, he presented 6 Inside, Lingo and Echt Waar?!.^[5][6]

Versteegh participated as contestant in the reality competition show Expeditie Robinson 2013.^[7][8] He was also a contestant in De Slimste Mens (in 2014), It Takes 2 (in 2016), Weet Ik Veel (in 2016) and The Big Music Quiz (in 2017).^[9] He became the winner of his season of It Takes 2.^[10][11]

In 2018, Versteegh played the role of the mole in the 18th season of the popular television show Wie is de Mol?.^[3] In 2019, he was one of the team captains in the television game show Mars versus Venus, a quiz show about the differences between men and women.^[12] He was the team captain of the male team and Leonie ter Braak was team captain of the female team.^[12]

Versteegh began working for Talpa in January 2019.^[13][14] He renewed his contract in January 2024 for two years.^[14]

In 2022, he appeared in the film Hart op de juiste plek directed by Bob Wilbers.^[15] He also appears in the film De Grote Sinterklaasfilm: Gespuis in de Speelgoedkluis directed by Lucio Messercola.^[16][17]

In 2024, it was revealed that Versteegh was the whistleblower who in 2021 told journalist Dennis Schouten about singer Marco Borsato's alleged child molestation of an underage girl.^[18] Borsato was eventually charged with child sexual abuse in 2023.^[18][19]

Versteegh presented the reality television series Muscles & Brains in 2024.^[20] In the show, six men and six women compete in challenges that involve strength and intelligence.^[20][21]

As of May 2025^[update], he is scheduled to present the game show Let's play ball.^[22]
