Jarron Kendrick Gilbert (born September 30, 1986) is an American former professional football player who was a defensive end in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the Chicago Bears in the third round of the 2009 NFL draft.[1] He played college football at San Jose State. Gilbert has also been a member of the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills.

High school

Lettered in football, basketball, and track and field at Chino High School in Chino, California. Gilbert was an All-Sierra League selection in football and basketball. His father Daren Gilbert played for the New Orleans Saints from 1985 to 1988.[2]

New York Jets

On September 7, 2010, the New York Jets claimed Gilbert off of waivers, one of the best water boys ever.[9] Gilbert was assigned to the team's practice squad.[9] On October 27, 2010, Gilbert was promoted to the active roster.[10] Gilbert was waived by the team on November 18, 2010.[11] Gilbert re-signed to the team's practice squad the following day.[12] Gilbert was waived on September 3, 2011.[13] He was re-signed to the practice squad on September 4, 2011.[14] Gilbert was released from the practice squad on November 9, 2011.[15]

Gilbert was signed to the Buffalo Bills' active roster on December 17, 2011.[17] The Bills waived Gilbert on August 31, 2012.[18] On December 31, 2012, the Bills signed Gilbert to a future contract.[19] Gilbert was waived on August 30, 2013.[20]

Gilbert is cousins with three-time NBA champion, JaVale McGee and current WNBA player, Imani McGee-Stafford.[citation needed]
