John Murillo is an American poet. He is a Cave Canem fellow[1] and MacDowell fellow.[2]

Life

He grew up in Los Angeles to an African-American father and Mexican mother.[3] He graduated from Howard University and New York University.[4] Murillo previously taught at Hampshire College and New York University.[1] He currently teaches at Wesleyan University[5][6] and Sierra Nevada College.[7][8]
