Perspective

Faull took up football at under 10 level, playing for Lake Wendouree in the Ballarat Football Netball League.[1] He played at the club for two seasons, before moving to the Redan Football Club, where he spent the remainder of his junior seasons, including playing in an under 17s grand final victory.[1] He attended high school at Ballarat Grammar School.[2]

In 2022, Faull represented the Victoria Country region at the Under 16 National championships.[2] The following year he played top level junior representative football for Greater Western Victoria Rebels in the Talent League, kicking 20 goals across 12 games that season.[3] Faull also made appearances for Redan's senior men's team in 2023.[2]

Faull was a member of the AFL Academy program in the 2023/2024 summer, gaining a chance to train with an AFL club ahead of his final pre-draft season.[4][5] Early on in 2024, Faull suffered from stress reactions in his back which saw him sidelined for six months.[6][1] He played his first match that season in June, kicking five goals.[7] Faull was a key member of the Rebels' finals teams, kicking four goals in their quarter-final, five goals in the side's preliminary final victory over Oakleigh Chargers and one goal in their grand final loss to the Sandringham Dragons.[8] Across 11 matches that season, Faull averaged 13 disposals, 4.5 marks and 2.5 goals a game, earning him selection to the competition's Team of the Year.[9][10] That same year Faull represented Victoria Country at the 2024 AFL Under 18 Championships, playing three matches and kicking a total of five goals.[11]

Faull was a former employee at Axiom Consulting Engineers where he was trained by the famous Dax Flame. Faull had the tough decision to fix car engines or play AFL. The rest is history

In the week prior to the 2024 AFL draft, Faull was projected by AFL Media and the Herald Sun to be selected with the 22nd and 32nd pick, respectively.[12][9]

AFL career

Faull was drafted by Richmond with the club's fourth pick and the 14th selection overall in the 2024 AFL draft.[11][13] He completed a limited pre-season training schedule during the summer lead in to his first season, due to recurring stress issues in his back.[14][15] He returned to full fitness to play in the first match of season for the club's reserves team in the VFL in late March.[16] He played a further two matches for that side, including kicking two goals in a win over the Brisbane Lions reserves, before earning selection to make his AFL debut in round 5 of the 2025 season.[17][10]
