Joshua Sasse (/sæs/ SASS) (born December 9, 1987) is a British actor. He is known for playing Sir Gary Galavant in ABC's Galavant (2015-2016). Other credits include The Big I Am (2010), Frankenstein's Army (2012), Rogue (2013–2014), The Neighbors (2014), No Tomorrow (2016–2017), Monarch (2022), Love Is in the Air (2023), and Outrageous (2024).

Early life
Sasse was born December 9, 1987 in Westminster, London.[1] He is the son of Dominic Sasse, who is also a poet, and Mary Rosalind Macauley.[1] He has an older sister, Lydia Sasse.[1] He was raised Roman Catholic, and has Irish, Welsh, Scottish, Indian and Jewish ancestry.[2]
Career
Sasse studied performing arts at Hurtwood House College,[1] and later at Cygnet Training Theatre in Exeter.[1] His first major role was on the British gangster film, The Big I Am in 2010.[1]
In the mid-2010, Joshua took over the role of Sky in the West End production of Mamma Mia! at the Prince of Wales Theatre, London.[1]
In March 2012, he was cast in a big budget horror film titled Frankenstein's Army.[3] In April 2013, he was cast in the TV series, Rogue.[1] He had a recurring role on the show which lasted for two series and 13 episodes.[4]
In December 2013, he was cast in Dan Fogelman's fairy tale-themed musical comedy pilot, Galavant.[5] The pilot was shot in London due to the UK's new tax credit for high-end television shows.[6] He was also cast in a recurring role on Fogelman's award-winning comedy, The Neighbors as DJ Jazzy Jeff.[7]
In May 2014, Galavant was picked to series and premiered on 4 January 2015.[8] The second season premiered on 3 January 2016.[9]
In 2016, he was selected to co-star in The CW's series No Tomorrow.[10]

Personal life
Sasse was engaged to Australian singer Kylie Minogue between February 2016 and 2017.[11][12]
Sasse married Louisa Ainsworth in 2018.[13] They have two children, Dominic and Delilah.[14] He also has a child from a previous relationship.[15][16]
