Jules W. Hurst III is an American politician who served as the acting Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness at the U.S. Department of Defense from March 17 to July 18, 2025.[1][2]

Early life
Hurst is from Virginia.[3] He is a graduate of the College of William and Mary as well as George Washington University.[4][5]
Career
Hurst worked as a defense fellow and policy advisor for Speaker of the House Mike Johnson.[6][7]
