The party is represented in the public space by Vlad Gheorghe, a former independent MEP, and aims to be an electoral platform for independent candidates and small anti-system parties.[5][6]
Starting from 2 September 2024, the party has representation in the Romanian Parliament, initially having ten deputies, five of which have been expelled from the party because of their association with the establishment parties.[7][8][9][10]
The migration of the 10 deputies from different parties with various ideologies to the DREPT Party on 2 September 2024 was treated with suspicion in the Romanian press.[11][12] According to unofficial sources, the DREPT Party will support[needs update]Mircea Geoană in the 2024 presidential elections, and after the DREPT Party became the parliamentary party, the party will be able to send observers to voting stations.[13][14]
