The party is represented in the public space by Vlad Gheorghe, a former independent MEP, and aims to be an electoral platform for independent candidates and small anti-system parties.[5][6]

Starting from 2 September 2024, the party has representation in the Romanian Parliament, initially having 10 deputies, 5 of which have been expelled from the party because of their association with the establishment parties.[7][8][9][10]

Reception

The migration of the 10 deputies from different parties with various ideologies to the DREPT Party on 2 September 2024 was treated with suspicion in the Romanian press.[11][12] According to unofficial sources, the DREPT Party will support[needs update] Mircea Geoană in the 2024 presidential elections, and after the DREPT Party became the parliamentary party, the party will be able to send observers to voting stations.[13][14]
