KAXL (88.3 FM "Life-FM") is a non-commercial, listener-supported radio station broadcasting an adult contemporary Christian music format. Licensed to Greenacres, California, it serves the Bakersfield metropolitan area. Life-FM is owned by Skyride Unlimited, Inc.[2] News updates are provided by AP Radio. The station seeks donations on the air and on its website.

History

The station signed on the air on May 4, 1994; 31 years ago (1994-05-04).[3] It has always had a Christian radio format. Before it went on the air, Skyride Unlimited bought the construction permit for $4,000 in 1991. Skyride supervised the building of the studios and transmitter.
