History

On October 14, 1963,[2] KOLM signed on the air as the 3rd radio station in Rochester, owned by Olmsted County Broadcasting Company.[3]

In June 1977, KOLM changed its call letters to KKEE.[4] The station later reverted back to KOLM on April 9, 1979, due to people referring the old call letters, rather than KKEE.[5]

On August 30, 2013, a deal was announced in which Townsquare would acquire 53 Cumulus Media stations, including KOLM, for $238 million. The deal is part of Cumulus' acquisition of Dial Global; Townsquare and Dial Global are both controlled by Oaktree Capital Management.[6][7] The sale to Townsquare was completed on November 14, 2013.[8]

As of April 1, 2025, Townsquare Media took KOLM silent, claiming changes in market economic conditions.
