Reception

The television drama adaptation was a success, and is popular among viewers as "late-night food porn"[26][27]. When he was offered the role, Yutaka Matsushige was critical of the idea and thought that it would hurt his future career, as he failed to find the show interesting[28]. Despite its future success, Yutaka continued to state his disinterest for the show, saying that he doesn't understand "what is interesting about a person eating"[29]. Writer Masayuki Qusumi was also worried, stating that the manga "had no content"[30].

Restaurants featured in the television drama remarked about the increase in customers.[31]
