Kouto is a town in northern Ivory Coast. It is a sub-prefecture of and the seat of Kouto Department in Bagoué Region, Savanes District. Kouto is also a commune.
The Mosque of Kouto, a small adobe mosque in the town, possibly dating from the seventeenth century, was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2021 along with other mosques in the region for its outstanding representation of Sudano-Sahelian architecture.[3]
In 2021, the population of the sub-prefecture of Kouto was 55,893.[1]
