Krishna Prasad Sitaula (Nepali: कृष्ण प्रसाद सिटौला) is a Nepali politician, belonging to the Nepali Congress. He is the leader of the Nepali Congress parliamentary party in the upper house, the Rastriya Sabha.[1][2][3]

Political career

Sitaula was nominated general secretary of the party by president Sushil Koirala. Sitaula served as Home Minister and Deputy prime minister in 2006.[4]

Sitaula won 1994 by-elections and 1999 elections from Jhapa 1.[5][6] He had won from Jhapa 3 in the second constituent assembly election.[7]

Sitaula lost the 2017 elections to Rajendra Prasad Lingden, who had forged an alliance with CPN (UML).[8]
