Kylie Lorena Cantrall[1] (born June 25, 2005[1][2]) is an American actress, singer and social media personality.[3] She began her career with a YouTube channel under the pseudonym "Hello Kylie".[4]

In her acting career, she has played the lead role as Gabby Duran in the television series Gabby Duran & the Unsittables (2019–2021),[2] a recurring role as Dani in the fourth season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series (2023),[5][6] and the lead role as Red in the Descendants films Descendants: The Rise of Red (2024)[7][8] and its sequel Descendants: Wicked Wonderland (2026).[9] Cantrall also voiced Savannah Meades in the animated film Ron's Gone Wrong (2021).[10] As a singer, she has recorded several singles, with her debut EP B.O.Y. being released on May 7, 2025.[11]

Early life

Cantrall's father is a music producer, while her mother is a dancer and choreographer.[12] Her mother is Venezuelan.[13][14] Cantrall began learning how to dance at three years old, while also going with her father to recording sessions.[15] She was in a dance competition in Las Vegas when she was seven years old.[16] When she was eight, she watched the biopic Crazy Sexy Cool.[4] She started researching the group TLC and became obsessed with their music.[12]

With her father's help, Cantrall started a YouTube series "Hello Kylie", where she reviewed Disney Channel shows.[4] She also started singing and performed on YouTube and musical.ly (now known as TikTok).[16] In 2016, Cantrall was signed to a talent management agency.[17] At the end of 2016, as Hello Kylie, she released her first single "Sleep Is 4 Suckas" alongside independent music label New Muzik Order, which was co-founded by her father.[18] She also made guest appearances on Bizaardvark and Raven's Home.[19]

At 13 years old, she was cast as the titular character in the television series Gabby Duran & the Unsittables.[20] As a result, she left public school to focus on her career.[16] In 2019, Gabby Duran & the Unsittables premiered on Disney Channel;[21] she also performed the series' opening theme song, "I Do My Thing".[22] The series was later cancelled in 2021.[23] Also in 2021, Cantrall was featured in the music video of the R3hab song "Sad Boy"[24][25] and voiced Savannah Meades in the animated film Ron's Gone Wrong, her film debut.[26]

In September 2022, it was announced during the D23 Expo that Cantrall would be part of the main cast of the fourth instalment in the Descendants film series, originally in the working title of Descendants 4, later being officially named Descendants: The Rise of Red. Cantrall was cast in the title role of Red, daughter of the Queen of Hearts.[27][28][7] In the same month, it was announced that she would become a recurring cast member in the fourth season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.[29][30]

In August 2023, Cantrall became the ambassador of TruSkin cosmetics brand, being the brand's first ambassador.[31][32] In 2025, she released her debut extended play, B.O.Y., as well as filming for the fifth Descendants film, Descendants: Wicked Wonderland (2026).[11]
