Leninsky District (Russian: Ле́нинский райо́н) is an administrative[1] district (raion), one of the thirty-three in Volgograd Oblast, Russia. As a municipal division, it is incorporated as Leninsky Municipal District.[5] It is located in the east of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,600 square kilometers (1,000 sq mi).[3] Its administrative center is the town of Leninsk.[2] Population: 30,375 (2010 Census);[4] 31,483 (2002 Census);[7] 30,778 (1989 Soviet census).[8] The population of Leninsk accounts for 51.0% of the district's total population.[4]
