  3. Ferreira was from the state of Minas Gerais, but was appointed to represent Tocantins after the state pageant organizers were unable to find a suitable candidate from Tocantins.

  7. In 2002, winner Joseane Oliveira of Rio Grande do Sul was dethroned after it was revealed that she was married at the time of her crowning. She was replaced as Miss Brazil by her first runner-up, Taíza Thömsen of Santa Catarina.
