Together, they all form the proclaimed ecological network of Serbia, and are based on some internationally declared important areas.[14][15][16]

  1. The dates of original protection are preferred. Many natural monuments were later re-evaluated by the new laws which changed the conditions or shifted the jurisdiction. Hence, in some publications, those later dates are listed as the dates of establishment
  2. Originally protected already in 1859. Declared a national park in 1936, demoted in 1946
  3. Previously, and still better known as the Banjica forest (Бањичка шума)
