Lolito Go (born July 21, 1985) is a Filipino songwriter [1] and poet.[2] He has written songs for television and for several OPM artists.[3]

Early life

Go was born into a middle-class family in Olongapo City to Lolito Morta Go and Necitas Ramada Go. His mother was a singer, and his older sister was a member of an all-female band in Olongapo. Surrounded by music from an early age, Go was inspired to pursue his own musical interests, learning to play the guitar. However, his efforts to form a band were unsuccessful.[4]

Go got his first nationwide exposure in 2016 for a composition addressing extrajudicial killings.[5]

In 2017, Go gained recognition for composing and playing the ukulele music for Titibo-Tibo, written by his spouse Libertine Amistoso, which won the grand prize at Himig Handog, a national songwriting competition in the Philippines.[6][7]

In 2019, Go wrote Pahinga performed by Moira dela Torre for her Paalam album, and participated in the PhilPop Songwriting Bootcamp as a sponsored fellow. His composition Balikan performed by Benj Manalo, was a finalist in the 2020 Philippine Popular Music Festival (PhilPop) and won the Smart Communications People's Choice Award.[8]

In 2021, Go released Soldier in White, dedicated to medical frontliners during the COVID-19 pandemic, which was later recorded by Garrett Bolden of GMA Music.[9] He also wrote the debut single of Tiktok Influencer Meiko Montefalco in the same year.[10]

In 2022, he wrote Quaranfling for Ken Chan and My Miracle for XOXO. The latter became the theme song for the Tagalized Korean drama Another Ms. Oh on GMA Network.[11]

In 2022, Go also contributed to political campaigns, co-writing with Moira dela Torre one of the campaign songs for former vice president Leni Robredo.[12]

In 2023, Go was commissioned to write the tourism songs for the towns of San Antonio and Masinloc in Zambales. In the same year, the song “Paglalayag” that was recorded by Tawag ng Tanghalan Season 2 Grand Prize winner Elaine Duran was launched [13]

In 2024, his wedding song He Knows, performed by Almira Lat, was released on streaming platforms.[14]

In 2025, Go revealed in an interview with Daily Tribune (Philippines) that he wrote political jingles for senatorial aspirants Imee Marcos and Gringo Honasan for the midterm elections.[15]

Influences

In an interview with BusinessMirror, Go cites Gary Granada, maestro Ryan Cayabyab, Ebe Dancel, The Beatles, and Joni Mitchell as some of his greatest influences in music.[16]

Personal life

Go is living in with his domestic partner Libertine Amistoso who is also a songwriter. They have a child, Ludwig Van Go, who is now a member of ABS-CBN's children's gag show Goin' Bulilit.[17]
