Malina Debnath

Malina Debnath (born 1976)^[1] is an Indian politician from Tripura.^[2] She was a Member of Tripura Legislative Assembly from Jubarajnagar Assembly constituency in North Tripura district.^[3]

Personal life

Debnath earned a Master of Arts in Bengali from Tripura University in 2001.^[1]

Career

Debnath won the 2022 Tripura byelection representing Bharatiya Janata Party from Jubarajnagar Assembly constituency by a margin of 4,572 votes.^[4] She took oath on 28 June 2022.^[5] However, she lost the 2023 Tripura Legislative Assembly election on BJP ticket to Sailendra Chandra Nath of CPI (M) by a narrow margin 296 votes.^[2]
