Manuel Andreu Sifontes (10 June 1887 – 1950) was a Salvadoran musician, conductor and playwright from Santa Ana, El Salvador.
Biography
Manuel was born on 10 June 1887 to José Mariano Andreu Echeverria and Leonor Sifontes. At a young age he developed a passion for music, and by 1911 he had become the Director of the Band of San Vicente and achieved prominence. He composed and wrote Waltz and Zarzuela works including "Sensitiva", "Lidia" and "El Premio Gordo", in which he paid tribute to many people, including his mother, Jorge Emilio Aragón and Carlos Martinez. In 1910 he married María Vitelli Bondanza, the daughter of a Southern Italian musician from Naples. His son, Manuel was a mechanic in the Salvadoran Army and the personal driver of the President. He died in San Salvador in 1950.[1][2]
