Margherita Della Valle (born 13 April 1965, Veneto)[1] is an Italian businesswoman who has been the chief executive officer (CEO) of Vodafone since January 2023.[2][3] Della Valle was elected Chairman of 100 Group,[4] the association that brings together FTSE 100 CFOs.[5]

Early life
Della Valle was born and grew up in Veneto Region, Italy.[6]
Biography
Della Valle attended Lycée Albert Premier in Monaco.[1] She holds a master's degree in economics from Bocconi University.[7]
During her early career, Della Valle became part of Omnitel Pronto Italia, which transitioned to Vodafone Italy in 1994.[8] She started at the company as a marketing analyst.[9] She held the role of Chief Financial Officer for Vodafone Italy between 2004 and 2007.[8][10]
Between 2015 and 2018, Della Valle served as Vodafone's Deputy Chief Financial Officer.[8][10]

In April 2023, Della Valle was appointed as the CEO of Vodafone, becoming the first female CEO of the company.[7] Prior to officially assuming the role, Della Valle temporarily assumed the role in January 2023, succeeding Nick Read.[7][11][12]
In 2023, she ranked 42nd in Forbes list of "World's 100 most powerful women" and 36th on Fortune's list of Most Powerful Women.[13][14]

Personal life
Della Valle is married and has two sons. She currently resides in London.[9]
