Masal

Masal (Persian: ماسال)^[a] is a city in the Central District of Masal County, in northwestern Iran's Gilan province. The city serves as capital of both the county and the district.^[4]

The word "Masal" and "Masal Oku" in Turkish means "read a fairy tale."

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 10,922 in 2,986 households.^[6] The following census in 2011 counted 14,689 people in 4,394 households.^[7] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 17,901 people in 5,759 households.^[2]
