Bolduc attended The Winchendon School where he was a two-time All New England selection as a junior and senior. During that time he was selected and played for the Region 1 ODP '94 squad.[1]

In 2013, he played college soccer for one year at the University of Massachusetts.[2]

In 2014, he moved on and signed for Mass United of the American Soccer League.[3] Bolduc then signed for the USL club Harrisburg City Islanders on March 17, 2016.[4] On May 17, 2017, Bolduc made his first appearance with the Richmond Kickers, coming on for Sunny Jane in the 80th minute in a 1–0 loss to Christos FC in the 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.[5]

At the end of the 2022 season, his contract option was declined by the Kickers.[6]

Bolduc spent 2023 with National Independent Soccer Association side Flower City Union, helping the team to win the Championship.[7][8]

Matt Bolduc joined Red Arm Football, a team competing in the Eighth Division of the Central Virginia Soccer Association (CVSA), for the Fall 2024 season. Taking the opportunity to simply enjoy football in its purest form, Bolduc quickly began drawing attention from local scouts with a series of standout performances. He was noted for elevating the performance of those around him, but often found himself having to seize control of matches, single-handedly dragging the team to victory.

Having seen the level of development Bolduc had with Red Army Football, Richmond Kickers head coach Darren Sawatzky opted to bring Bolduc back to the club for the 2025 season. While Bolduc was never under official contract with Red Army Football prior to his move to the USL League One club, the amateur side remain hopeful that the Richmond Kickers will agree to a compensation package for Bolduc's transfer.

On February 18, 2025, Bolduc returned to Richmond after two seasons away from the club.[9]
