Early life
Matthew Beem was born on March 20, 1997, in Denver, Colorado.[4] After graduating high school in 2014 or 2015, Beem got a minimum-wage job as a car mechanic, washing and painting cars for seven years. He had always wanted to start a YouTube channel, and saved up money to invest in one instead of going to college. After four years of working at the company, Beem was promoted to head car painter and worked 12-hour shifts before filming YouTube videos at night. He quit his job in January 2022, after gaining success on YouTube.[5][6]

Career
Beem first began uploading videos on a separate channel in 2010. He originally posted videos of himself playing Call of Duty, but was later inspired by the vlogs of creators like Casey Neistat and Logan Paul. It took him three years to get 100 subscribers.[5]
Beem, then known as mbeem10, created his current channel in January 2018, but did not begin uploading until February 2019. Beem's first videos were about streetwear and his sneaker collection. He also enjoyed making content about basketball. Later that year, Beem decided to make his content more "broad" and began switching up to producing videos about eating challenges, vlogs, and pranks.[5] He first went viral in July 2021 after creating a custom car for MrBeast.[7] He also gained attention in 2022 from a video where he turned his room into an aquarium.[8][9] Beem is also known for building large props and statues,[5] including the world's largest ice cream cone[10][11][12] and largest operating iPhone.[13]
