Perspective
Metamorfosi is a beautiful and quiet area in the northern suburbs of Athens, offering an excellent combination of tranquility and greenery. It has many green spaces, parks and tree-lined streets, creating a friendly and pleasant atmosphere for residents and visitors. Metamorfosi is located south of Kifissia and is 12 kilometers from the center of Athens. It covers an area of 9 square kilometers. Initially, it was administratively under the Municipality of Athens, until 1934. From 1934 to 1971, it was recognized as an autonomous Community of Metamorfosi, to finally be promoted to the Municipality of Metamorfosi in 1972.[5] It has an average altitude of 200 meters.
The neighborhood stands out for its low-rise buildings, comfortable squares and beautifully landscaped neighborhoods that allow for a quality lifestyle. The parks and playgrounds are well-maintained, offering opportunities for relaxation, sports and family activities.
Access is easy, with main roads and public transport connecting Metamorfosi with the centre of Athens and other areas. At the same time, the area maintains a sense of neighbourhood, with quiet streets and quality homes.
It was once a famous place for recreation for Athenians, both because of its good climate and because of the many taverns that existed in the area, which was then a picturesque village in the countryside of Athens. Today, it has evolved into a complete modern Municipality, with shops, many parks and squares, sports facilities. It recently acquired a second Lyceum.
