Nevin is a native of County Laois, and a cousin of Olympic medallist John Joe Nevin.^{[citation needed]}

Nevin boxes at Portlaoise Boxing Club.^{[citation needed]}

Nevin won bronze at the 2019 European Games in Minsk.^[6][7]
