Mihara Yasuhiro (みはら やすひろ, born June 1972) is a Japanese fashion designer who is the founder and creative director of the avant-garde luxury Japanese fashion house, Maison Mihara Yasuhiro (MMY).

Biography

Yasuhiro was born in June 1972 in Nagasaki, Japan.

Yasuhiro launched his first label, archi doom in 1996.[1][better source needed] Later, he would found the label, SOSU MIHARA YASUHIRO.[2][better source needed]

His own collection of footwear debuted in 2000 in Japan. Yasuhiro spent two years working on Puma sneaker shoes, releasing his adapted versions in 2000.[3][4]

Yasuhiro is married to internationally renowned jazz pianist Hiromi Uehara.[5]

Born in 1972 Nagasaki, Japan, he entered the textile undergraduate program of Tama Art Design Department in 1993. The next year, Mihara started a self-study of making shoes. Two years later, in 1996, he launched his own shop “archi doom”. Following the completion of his studies in 1997, he created his eponymous fashion house, “MIHARA YASUHIRO” and started to present collections.[6]
