Mikaela Angela "Mika" Bito-onon Suansing (born October 28, 1991[1]) is a Filipino politician currently serving as the representative of Nueva Ecija's 1st congressional district in the House of Representatives of the Philippines since 2022. She is a member of the Lakas–CMD party and comes from a prominent political family in Nueva Ecija.[2]

Early life and education
Mika Suansing was born on October 28, 1991, in Quezon City. She is the daughter of former Sultan Kudarat's 2nd congressional district representative Horacio Suansing Jr. and former Nueva Ecija's 1st congressional district representative Estrellita "Ging" Suansing. She is the older sister of Sultan Kudarat's 2nd congressional district representative Bella Vanessa Suansing.
Suansing is an alumna of the Philippine Science High School.[3] She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Engineering from the Ateneo de Manila University and later earned a Master in Public Policy degree from Harvard University in the United States.[1][4]

Political career
Suansing began her political career as the Chief of Staff in the office of her mother, Congresswoman Estrellita “Ging” Suansing. In this role, she gained experience in legislative processes and public service.
In the 2022 elections, Suansing ran for congresswoman of the 1st district of Nueva Ecija under the NP. She defeated her opponents, Rommel Padilla of PDP–Laban and Alex Balutan of the Reform Philippines (RP) Party. Since assuming office on June 30, 2022, Suansing has focused on legislation aimed at improving education, healthcare, and economic development in her district.
In 2024, Suansing joined the Lakas–CMD party, aligning herself with the national political coalition to strengthen her legislative agenda.[5] She was re-elected as representative in 2025. On July 29, 2029, a day after the opening of the 20th Congress, she was named chairperson of the House Committee on Appropriations.[6] During the same Congress, she is also the vice chaiperson of the House Committee on Basic Education and Culture and a member of 10 other committees.[7]

Suansing comes from a family with a strong political legacy in Nueva Ecija. Her father, Horacio Suansing Jr., and mother, Estrellita “Ging” Suansing, both served as representatives. She continues to reside in Zaragoza, where she remains actively involved in local governance and community development.
Suansing married Napoleon Interior, a former member of the Nueva Ecija Provincial Board, at a wedding ceremony in Bali, Indonesia in January 2025.[8]
