Mongolia is participating in the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia from 18 August to 2 September 2018. Mongolia made its first appearance at the Asian Games in 1974 Tehran, and have a total 137 medals, including 20 gold, 37 silver, and 80 bronze. At the previous edition in Incheon 2014, Mongolia had collected 21 medals, and standing in the 16th position in medals tally.[2]
On 5 July 2018, Indonesia Asian Games Organizing Committee (Inasgoc) stated that Mongolia withdrew in its participation in all team events at the Games, by an official letter from the Mongolian National Olympic Committee.[3]

Mongolia entered 12 wrestlers ( 6 men's and 6 women's) at the Games. The contingent has collected two gold, a silver, and three bronze medals.[17] On 3 September 2018, it was announced that Pürevdorjiin Orkhon had tested positive for Stanozolol in a urine test conducted on 20 August 2018. Violating the anti-doping rules, Orkhon was stripped of her gold medal.[4]
