Montappone

Montappone is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Fermo in the Italian region Marche, located about 50 kilometres (31 mi) south of Ancona and about 35 kilometres (22 mi) northwest of Ascoli Piceno. It is a very important centre for hat production.^[3] As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,780 and an area of 10.4 square kilometres (4.0 sq mi).^[4]
